Oil Pump Failure... Upgrade??

Hello,

I am still relatively new to this forum and Golf tuning. I have a mk5 GTI that has just had its oil pump fail (low pressure when up to temp).

all caused by a blocked oil filter!!

my question is before forking out £1000 for what could possibly be the wrong part, is there an upgrade to the pump??

I believe my engine code to be AXX, but due to not having car, im not 100%.

any help would be great.
