Brembo Calipers from Cayenne on MK5 Gti Edition 30

<< < (2/5) > >>

ROH ECHT:
That's a real good write up. I knew there where some slight adjustments needed, but for the most part it was nearly a direct bolt on. I would opt for the proper rotors and avoid a rotor to pad mismatch. Hope all goes smoothly for you.

Vasekk:
I have this brake setup.

18ZL/R Calipers
350x32 ML/GL Rotors
Special mounting hardware
custom banjo brake lines
centering rings for rotors

Shorty:
Where did you get the centering rings for the discs mate?

Vasekk:
I have plastic ones from our country story http://www.kola-na-auto.cz/cs/stredici-centrovaci-krouzky-do-hlinikovych-disku/vymezovaci-krouzek-fz82-67-0-65-1-5545.html

I have also purchased this ones but did not try them yet http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hub-Centric-Rings-67mm-65-07mm-Metal-Hubrings-/230667289631

DaveB@Vagbremtechnic:
Ive got these centreing rings and discs in stock.

The only sensible engineering solution to the centering ring issue is to take the centre bore of the disc OUT to 68mm and then create a centreing ring that is 1.5mm wide instead of 1mm. Dont forget the ring is only that thickness at the top as it has to taper to cover the Rad a the bottom of the spigot.

whilst the disc is clocked up we give it a new countersunk mounting hole to match the VAG hub. The end result is somethig which is in essence OEM.

Got to love the forums where theyre telling you to grind stuff away to get it to fit.....

For reference set of drilled discs from me is £208 plus VAT with all the processes included including drilled faces

Those shimmed bolts arent great either, we made our own shoulder bolts from EN16 which has a rolled tensile strength of 70 tonnes coming back to 55tonnes when machined and plated, they had a proper step down from M16-M14 with fine thread pitch and lock nuts..

just my £0.02
