All Things Mk5 > Performance Modifications
APR Stage 2 and APR RSC Exhaust..update...1st Evaluation Report.
john_o:
it is restrictive and you could make good gains , but you dont 'need' it.
however youve come this far and your car is highly modified , so Id say why not , plus some extra noise is always nice ....
would need to be a replacement intake for the whole cover though , carbonio is not worth it for your car.
would need ITG/Forge twintake/Dhilbas etc type tube things :happy2:

Do you run one on your car?
Where's best to obtain one on the item's you've mentioned?

VWR intake (still pending)
no details available , unless you call them
existing kits
Carbonio
Dhilbas
Powerflow
Evoms
Carbonspeed
(have I missed any?)
I would research existing kits VERY carefully (esp on golfmkv.com) , as some people have reported issues with these kits.
Noise , fitment , longevity , filter type (oiled etc) , cost , do they use original cover etc as aspects to consider.
Are you keeping the car or moving on in a year etc
hth
:happy2:
[Note : as one opinion Teutonic_Tamer does not endorse fitment of ANY aftermarket intakes.
Paper filter OE only but the decision is up to you]
[Note : this could be another FAQ :signLOL:]
KRL:
APR/Carbonio are due to bring out a stage 2 intake for the FSI and TSI as well so make that 4 new intakes!
john_o:
nice one :happy2:
wads of choice now, although knowing Msportman I suspect I know which one he'll go for  :signLOL:
