I think I may invest in a set! What's the brightness like as lights and brake lights? Don't want anything that's over the top bright

The light output ain't as warm as a filament bulb so appears a bit brighter. When braking they are as intense as the high level light is. You need to order two sets (4 bulbs in total) for the complete rear lights. Don't only order one set like I did then have to wait for another set!!
