Worth a enquiry to find out whether any news of this relates to the uk.

It's 07 models on, only too. Now that's either comforting, having a my06, or upsetting. They've clearly tracked the issue to a batch of faulty components which thanks to their traceability process targets a specific production date. Bit of a bummer if your mechatronics goes on earlier cars..... We still need confirmation that this will apply to Europe too (something tells me it may not) which will be less to do with the fault being at risk on our cars but more to do with our weak legal position compared to the states.....Sorry I'm cynical I know, you'd think that vw on releasing this to the states would have open it to Europe next, it may be phased due to budgets ..... Lets see how it develops (fingers crossed).

So I wasn't alone... Just that my car was for 6 months out of warranty... I managed to get 70% warranty on the new transmition, still had to pay 30% and all work... 2.000 Pounds... :sad1:

This has got me a bit concerned... a couple of quick questions:
* How long is VW's warranty, is it limited by mileage as well as years?
Is the mechatronic unit replaced a revised part no?
