Pipewerx downpipes to standard system
rickyquicky:
To everybody running a pipewerx downpipe to standard system, did it fit straight away using just the exhaust sleeve/clamp thing to mate them up?
I have a pipewerx downpipe, my mechanic attempted to fit it and said it is about 2 foot too short.
It has the reducer built in, but when the old downpipe is removed the join is far back near the rear wheels, the pipewerx downpipe doesn't stretch far enough to mate up to it.
Is there supposed to be another pipe to link the 2? Or are they usually long enough to reach and I have the wrong one?
Gaz:
Youve probably sorted it by now, but..
I had a standard downpipe fitted to a Milltek cat-back, then fitted a Pipewerx downpipe instead. I obviously had to cut the reducer off the Pipewerx but otherwise the joins for exhaust were in the same place as standard downpipe..
Id think the downpipe settings are programmed into the bender or whatever, so every one should be identical!?

I had a straight bit of pipe 1.5' long which went from my 3" Pipewerx to standard system with a rolled reduced section in it... sold for 99p on ebay! lol
Simon_2.0t:
Anyone fitted a 3' decat of ebay to a standard system? (Toyosports etc)
I know when I had my mk4 I had to get an extra bit of pipe fitted.
Are they the same for the mk5, or a direct fit?
Cheers Si

I have got the toyosports one and was a perfect fit, straight to the standard exhaust with no issues. Sounds brilliant too, just fancy a bit more noise, and you can barely hear it at all when cruising or not on boost.
