"Bespoke job would require use of a RR during tweaking..."

This was a mobile job - should I avoid in that case??

skard:
I know someone with a garage that offers this, they took a short course on remapping. As far as I know the file is downloaded, sent away, then returned and put on car.
Ok for generic mapping the same as any other generic place, but when so many highly rated places are the same kind of price and they offer RR tuning (identify and react to issues) then I would go for that.

I thought it sounded cheap? The guy assured me it would be a bespoke job - hence better results?

In your (valued) opinion what should it cost?

Thanks!

It won't be custom by the sounds of it. Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with generic maps like revo, giac, apr etc - the difference being they spend many thousands on developing the software and the after service is excellent as well. This black code is a jack of all trades looking at the site where these companies specialise in the vag engines. Not cheap though at £500-600.

The best for custom mapping would be R-Tech. Good prices as well, around £350 IIRC and they have lots of good reviews aswell and at least use a rolling road and vcds for data logging.

If you give us a location I'm sure we can recommend somewhere.

Im revo just now and can't fault them in anyway.

JKM are Revo dealers in Southampton.

Saintsteve lives in Southampton and travelled to Leicester for an R-Tech map. You have to weigh up the price of the map and the fuel cost  :happy2:
