DVD ripping on Mac OSX

<< < (2/3) > >>

simonp:
A non-Apple external drive helps, I believe. Apple SuperDrive firmware has a feature called Riplock built in which is the cause of the slowness.

Degudodger:

In that case PM the OP you address.... Shouldn't take you long to do 40 DVDs!!!

simonp:
Why not just actually keep the ones you want to keep? :P

For reference and if you have access to a PC, I use slysoft's AnyDVD and CloneDVD. It comes with a free 21 day trial licence, so you'd get 3 weeks in which to do what you require before they'd want you to purchase the products. You'll get nagged, but it is fully functional...

BeezerDiesel:
When I tried tried Handbrake on my iMac it would only burn the DVDs in M4V format that wouldn't play on my Blu-ray player.
Mind you when it comes to tech...

Degudodger:
Forgot i had Handbrake installed on my Mac so ripped i ripped some discs this afternoon, however even with i7 2.4GHz cpu and 16GB ram it's still taking 20 minutes a disc. After three discs i lost the will to live!
