I don't think you'll have too many problem with the plate.
What colour are you going to paint the vinyl, or is this going to be kept as a suprise?! Really good plan to go with the matte - it gives a nice contrast to the gloss black of the rest of the car! I think sometimes on a black car the lovely gloss front grille can get a little lost!
Did you see that other thread in the MK5 Chat section (think it was entitled "milltek"), where that guy had painted his exhaust surround red.....would look great on yours!

Im going to stay with the matte black I think, I was thinking of dark silver? Haven't seen the exhaust tips I'll have a look :wink:
