Missfire
« on: June 28, 2021, 06:17:19 pm »
Hi could anyone help me, I recently noticed my GTI is misfiring, I changed my spark plugs and coil plugs today as I was told that’s the first place to start, unfortunately I still feel like I have a missfire in 4th upwards any suggestions?

Plug into VCDS to get some diagnostics data to see which cylinder or multiple cylinders are playing up

Otherwise it could be timing (less likely from the sounds of it), injector(s), carbon build up on intake valves or both.

What miles have you done?

I had misfires on Cyln4 and it ended up being carbon build up at about 90k miles......common issues now on car 80k to 100k miles or even less in some case where there is only city/town driving

I cleaned that all out and cleaned the injectors in petrol overnight due to it all being taken apart already, with seals etc......been fine since.
