I always try and give mine a wash-polish-sealant session at the end of october than just wash at home or jetwash until the spring , never thought of that idea with the pump sprayer and some sort of pre wash/warm water , that sounds good actually.

yep, i just use a 5 Litre pump spray with VP Citrus Pre wash diluted 10:1. Gives enough to give the car a good covering.
Obviously the car wont look sparkling clean but at least the vast majority of the road salt will be washed off.

yep know how you feel, had the R sitting pretty in the garage sunday all clean and shiney. Go tinto work monday morning which is only 30mins away and it was covered in road dirt and salt....  round my way there seems to be loads of dumped on the roads over the last few weeks.  I say all this and i bet i'm out there saturday cleaning it,  just cant stand a dirty car.

Just make sure you only use the cold water rinse function of the Tesco jet wash. I've read that the bug splat remover and shampoo functions are not wax friendly as the chemicals are very harsh. Most pre-wash / snowfoams that are diluted correctly are wax friendly so best stick to these.
