Due to my immense strength (and the fact I'm a muppet) i managed to Bollox my plastic boot trim so after a trip to the breakers and £30 later another one was bought. My god those things are a PITA to remove. :fighting:
Also picked up these interior centre console grab handles for only £20 so I'll have them Hydro dipped and find someone to fit them as they look a right pain to me.

Is that boot trim the same on any MK V? 3 or 5 door?
I need a new one and the Stealers want 120, another 40 to fit it!!! After reading this though I'm beginning to think of paying 'em to do it...
I'll have a root round a few breakers before though at least.

^^^^ Same part for both 3dr and 5dr. I wouldn't bother getting the dealers to fit it if I were you, it's not hard to get off JUST BE CAREFUL!! :wink:
Quick search reveals a minty fresh looking one going cheap on eBay.

Mine looks a darker grey trim than that one though, seems to be the same as yours. It's for a black GTI. No real rush for it I suppose so will keep a look out on the bay for one. Could do with some advice on the best breakers round my way too if anyone could help. I'm North West based, don't mind travelling either in me new motor...

Did you fit the grab handles yet?
If not I wouldn't bother paying someone else to do it, if you've got a set of trim removal tools its piss easy to do. Took me all of 5 minutes to swap mine over.
