MkV GT TDI 170 DSG - Blue Graphite [Sunday Clean]
MikLSP:
I think they work on any colour really, they look much sharper than the standard grilles.

Looks mint

Some new goodies thanks to dodds-gttdi.....
They're now in the shed until I find chance to fit them
Also picked up a preemptive CAN gateway, now to find an RNS-510 to go with it :happy2:

I didn't mention this on here the other day but unfortunately the courier damaged one of the skirts in transit, I'll not get into that now but another thanks goes to dodds-gttdi for being very helpful in chasing them up on it.
Anyway, the damage was a crack down the seam under the rear door, as you can see below
I've since had a go at repairing it though my first choice of product, Plastic Weld, has no effect on these so I resorted to super glue applied from the rear side. Not too bad considering.
While the main seam has joined together nicely, unfortunately it seems that no amount of encouragement will get the branching crack to close up. I think the deeper surfaces are indeed in contact and glued and that the opening remains because the upper edges have been deformed by local compression of the plastic as the skirt was bent.
Can anyone suggest a product or method that can fill in such small cracks in these without making a mess across the upper dimpled surface, as pasting glue over it would do for example?

Hey bud, heard anything from the courier yet? I'm so annoyed a) they managed to ham fist them and crack them, and b) it won't close. Are you intending on painting them at all? If you are the paint shop should flatten them then use a filler primer to ensure a smooth surface. This might fill in the wee gap. Will den you a wee PM the now. :happy2:
