Detailing prices?

Adam-golf:
I've enquired about having my paint restored as it's a complete mess at the moment. It's a black mk5 and is full of swirls and scratches.
A guys just quoted me £320 to sort it out over 3 days without looking at the car.
I don't know a thing about detailing so I'm not to sure if this is a good price or not?

I'm in Essex and I don't know how to go about finding other detailers to compare prices

Hello.
Firstly I have moved your thread to the correct section.

A full paintwork correction is not cheap. £320 for 3 days of work is pretty reasonable, especially if their quality of work is good. What's the company you have gone with?
At the end of the day, you can easily spend 35 hours doing a heavy enhancement / 95% correction detail and it's not only the products that are used you're paying for, it's the cost of the machinery, and more importantly the skill of the person doing the work.

Could you find cheaper, maybe. But depending on who is doing it, you may find that you end up getting a worse result.

Adam-golf:
Sorry mate my bad!

I did have a quick look through your guide to detailing but I think I need to spend a fair few hours to take it all in.

The bloke is called L N Detailing and he's from Southend. I'd never heard of him before so I will be asking to see some of his previous work before I get him to do it.

And that's a very fair point, you pay for what you get

Same place??
If his quality of work is right then fine but ask him if you're not sure.
I know a guy here in Newbury (bit of a trek for you) if you want - He's very competitively priced and is fully insured, works on Ferraris, Lambos, etc haha

Adam-golf:
Yh that's the guy

Newbury is 2 and a half hours away haha! I'll get a bit more info of this blokes and may be back in contact if he isn't all that  :happy2:

Thanks for the help!
