Excellent choice of car Phil. A versatile car that's a pleasure carrying the family or having a hoon on track.
On the cruise control I had mine retro fitted by AWESOME in Manchester. They did fit it with the APR software which allows you to switch been the stock VW map and the APR Stage 1 variants which should take the car to approx 290-300bhp. It's a superb modification likewise I find the cruise facility brilliant especially on speed restricted sections on the motorway.
APR can also offer other functions which can also be accessed via the cruise stalk....I like their approach to their tuning philosophy using OE hardware to change the maps.
There are many others out there and the ED30 really comes alive on a stage 1 map.

So all i need now is my numbered plaque. Will VW have already sent this to the one and only previous owner or only if they requested (which i think they wont have)?

Dont hold your breath mate! I doubt you will get one :sad1: Ive been asking and asking my dealer, and they just say that they will try and look into it!
