Hi there, I recently found an amplifier in the loft from an old car i had, and i wondered if it would be possible to fit it to my car? Its a 4ch bridgeable Pioneer amp model GM-X554. (4x100w).

Would this power the stock speakers in any way or would it be better powering a sub? I have a 12" pioneer somewhere too.
Any tips or opinions are welcome. I thought i might as well use it.
...oh yes i have the RNS510, so i'm not sure what leads/socket are on the back?

you would be best wiring the speakers with that amp---if you get the sub installed a good class d mono amp will do the job-

Is this an easy job mate? Do you know if the original speakers will be up to the job?  Also are there any RCA outputs on the back of the RNS510?

I really don't want to be spending any cash on ICE .....at the moment. I would really love plush to sort out my car :jumpmove: it would be great to soundproof the car and up-grade all the components and have a nice deep sub all amped up....but it will have to wait!

Andy:
not sure if the RNS510 has rca on the header unit but the orig speakers sound good connected to a amp

Thanks maxitrol, i don't suppose you would know how to wire it up if the head unit has no RCA's?  I have only ever connected amps to head units with RCA's :ashamed:
