Andy:
Looking good but personally I would change the h/u to get better balance over the sound and adjustment

Ecco this... although I kept my OEM headunit and used an audison bit 10 DSP. It completely transformed the sound.

Originally I just installed the JL HD600/4, Hertz HSK 163 and JL 10W3V3 running from a AudioControl LC6i which is just a line out converter with bass level control. But I wasnt happy so tried the Audison in place of the AudioControl and it gave me so much more adjustability and completely changed the sound to more like what I was expecting from all the new hardware!

Yeah I feel the same. However, having put it all in with MDI and OEM Bluetooth etc.
Going after market, I just have not found a BT solution that's good enough on aftermarket that works theu the radio's RCA out.

Plus I'm not a fan of Double Din aftermarket units. Which makes it so much harder.

I'm using a JBL MS-8 as my alternative to an Audison Bit.Ten.
As much as I like the Audison. I had this laying around.

Will post a quick shot up later on, what I did in my previous MK5 GTI.

Will be testing the JBL tonight otherwise I will have to swap the EQ out for something else.

Next round of updates guys

I have heaps of photos to add. Which will happen later today.

In a nutshell, box is built. I had just too little airspace for the subwoofers at first.
Now rectified none of my normal sized amps even remotely fit.

So this is the final run down for the amplifiers

At this stage still using OEM radio, however I might stick my alpine 7998 in as the source.
1 x JBL MS-8 ( located under front seat
1 x Rockford fosgate PBR300.4 (tweeters and mids)
1 x Rockford fosgate PBR300.1 ( IDQ's 330wrms @ 1 ohm)
1 x Soundstream Nanoblock 680.4 (bridged for mid bass)
     Approx 240wrms per mid bass

Here are two ideas for the amplifier layout as a teaser
Angled amplifiers - ignore mounting post, they will be hidden or Perspex

Straight line - sorry tried rotating photo a few times

I'm going to try and hide as much of the
Cabling as possible.
