Where to start with my 2.0 TDI.

Hi,

I've had my 2.0TDI for about 6 months now and I've modded it a fair bit (cosmetically) but now I think its time for performance based upgrades to give it some bite to go with its bark

So where do you guys think should I start with it?  Remap? or other things first and then a remap, I've looked on the Superchips website (they're what my local VAG specialists use so I'd probably go with them as they didn't have a good word for Revo even though they previously stocked it) and a remap should take me from 140 to 177BHP which is quite a leap to begin with.

Are there any other smaller performance mods (new air intake or something?) that I can do too, I'd rather not mod it to the stage where I have to start swapping the turbo and upgrading the clutch etc quite yet and I'm not quite sure how far I can take it before it starts to get out of hand.

I just wanted to check before i forked out for a remap as I guess it might be better to do the other stuff first then have the map done or does it not matter?

When I had mine it was remapped, if you will keep it long enough you'll probably have to change the turbo and/or clutch kit inc DMF anyway as they are a bit maxed out.

Look at what Maxitrol and Trekmeister have done with hybrid turbo's etc on the BKD for inspiration.

did some one call :signLOL:

Dave7692:
Ok well I've got it for another 3 years minimum so it sounds like I'll end up changing the clutch and turbo, just a shame because its only got 65k on it but I guess the clutch and DMF will need doing eventually, I'll have to check out Darkside Developments then

Andy:
Am running a hybrid turbo on the standard clutch as long as you don't keep slipping the clutch or drive like a idiot it will be fine on just a remap
