Just to add my experience, might save someone some time... Mine malfunctioned when I pulled out the key whilst it was closing I think.
i have a 2006 Mk5 TSI (am I allowed here!!? ;0)
Nothing above worked for me.
The torx adjuster was under a little grille in front of the sunglasses holder. Not under the sunglasses holder.
It's very stiff, so mess around and get it nearly closed, using switch and key. Make sure the car is properly off and the switch is in the closed position. Adjust the torx until it's perfectly closed. I went for 1mm of glass above paintwork of roof. Then switch on the ignition. Voila!

Basically, you are manually adjusting the sun roof to match the switch position. Bon courage!
