--- Quote from: Little_Dave on April 22, 2014, 09:38:55 pm ---Ok so as some of you may know unfortunately my GTI was written off in an accident in January, which I was absolutely gutted about, but I had already had plans in a year or so to move on to another car and this just made my decision a bit sooner than anticipated

For me I wanted to stay in the VAG stable and initially thought about just going out and getting another GTI straight away  but after sitting down and thinking about it any GTI I got would have to be an edition30 for the extra tuning potential and limited edition garnish

However I was not enjoying the wheel spin and traction issues I was having with my stage2+ GTI in damp and wet conditions and so adding more power for me personally would not be a good idea unless I wanted to invest a lot of money into the car

I narrowed my search down to two choices, a mk6 golf R and a facelift audi S3

Looking around it became obvious that a golf R was out of my price range and so began the hunt for a 3dr dsg S3

After some searching I found a very nice silver 3dr dsg S3 and it was love at first sight

This is how it looked when going for a test drive

Totally standard apart from a black edition front grill surround

Even in standard form it felt quicker than my GTI and the traction and grip was immense  :driver:

First off I wanted to get my wheels and brakes swapped over from the GTI and address the reverse rake the standard suspension has so gave Alex a call at AKS and started the ball rolling with the following mods -

Bilstein B14 coilovers
Superpro ALK
H&R front and rear arbs
Db9 astons fitted
TT top mounts
Alignment
Revo stage 1

Ended up being an all day marathon but at the end of it the car looked and handled spot on

Now that was all I had planned for quite a while but I've got two friends on here that are bad influences plus Alex was tempting me with all sorts of goodies  :signLOL:

So a deal was made and a kind of mini group buy set up for this little lot to be fitted

So my engine bay went from this

To this  :pomppomp:

That's how it stands at the moment but I've ordered a BCS full exhaust in the group buy and already have the loba hpfp in place to go stage2+ when that's fitted in a week or so

Here's a few pics after a good clean a few weeks back before early edition

Looking forward to trying out the new chemical guys stuff I've just got when the weather starts behaving itself  :fighting:

That's about it for now thanks for reading

Loving this, keep up the good work!

What about black mirrors Dave?

If mine wasn't Phantom black, I'd have done them in gloss Phantom black
