Dropped the car off at the garage today, new calipers have been ordered, wheel booked in for refurbishment. Car will be dropped to my house once its repaired. Owner of the garage seems unhappy about compensating me for my loss of earnings, but l have Trading Standards on my side!

Looking forward to going for a drive once Im back from my holibobs.

lovely car - really enjoyed the read.

Hope you get your brake/wheel sorted without hassle!

Could you also let us know how you get on with powered mirrors, as this is something I would like to do myself  :happy2:

bbfb10:
Thanks @andyb616 me too!!

I will be having a crack at the mirrors in the next few weeks l think so will do a write up then. Ive read a few bits about it so fingers crossed it goes ok.

So I returned from Cornwall suitably relaxed and sunburned to find my car waiting outside my house. As I didn't get home until late I didn't have a chance to properly inspect the car, but it looked good in the fading light. Got up this morning and had a proper butchers. Initial thoughts are good. Wheel looks 100%, and the brakes aren't too bad either.

Only slight gripe is that the colour isn't quite the same as the previous calipers. Old ones were a more 'cherry red' compared to these being more of a Tornado Red, but I don't mind that too much.

Think the modding will slow down a bit now, I have a list of things that I want to do to the car, but the planned mods are expensive and will require some serious saving up.

vRSAlex:
Honestly the first time I've seen that happen. Bloody unlucky, yet very lucky nothing bad happened.

Were the brackets OK?
