Obviously with the gti, ed30 etc. the intake runs above the exhaust manifold, do you guys use heat shields on your CIA or not? And if so what is it made of?

Alex at AKS has made me a heatshield for above the exhaust manifold.  I don't know whether to cover it in heat reflective material to deflect the heat, or leave it bare and have it do more of a 'heat sink' job and it will still deflect some heat.

My previous ITG has one built into the pipe work.

See I was thinking the same, stainless or ally heat shield to absorb the excess heat then go to town on my intake pipe with reflective tape to stop any that makes it past?

Yeah I wrapped my ITG in heat reflective material but my new Revo intake is ceramic coated

Have you seen much of an advantage with the ceramic coating over the film/tape?
