I was looking at the TTRS calipers with the bracket to fit them to the standard 345mm discs but I was told that you need the TTRS master cylinder to see any improvements. Is this true???
I done my first track day on Thursday there in my mk2 Leon Cupra and brakes are a priority now as I'm planning a few more.

You don't need the master cylinder upgrade.

That'll save me a few £££ then. I can find the TTRS calipers with pads for £300 but the brackets to fit them are nearly as expensive I've found out. Kinda puts me off.
Shorty:
Just a quick update for any people who have asked.
Sadly I didn't even make the Ring, we got 40 mile down the M6 and my mate in his 330D BM snapped his gear linkage, so we limped it Sanbach services, pulled it apart so we could go back home in my car to weld it up.
Car park strip down..
We then left the services to fly back to mine to sort it, pulled out and my car wasn't making full boost, it had been smoking too. It got less and less and as we got back to mine it was smoking bad and I had no boost at all, so knew something was pretty bad. Got a lift back down to Sandbach, fixed my mates BM but it still wasn't 100% so decided to call it a day.
Was absolutely gutted, I'd done 200 miles since it got mapped. Got the turbo off the next day and it was seized, bits of the heat shield around the turbine wheel had come away jamming the turbo.
The car is now sitting in lots of bits again and the engine bay looks like this..
Decided to have the inlet off seeing as it's off the road again and clean up the valves.
It's looking very sorry for itself. :(
On a good note, while it's off the road this came up for sale off a mate, so I bought it to run while the reds one getting sorted.
A lovely black one, also DSG. Bought it thinking it was totally standard but when I drove it I noticed it was missing a bit higher up and in between gears. Anyway I checked all the normal bits like DV, PCV, cam follower and plugs to find the PCV was knackered, I blanked it up for the time being.
Went back out and it seemed to pull nice, a quick look on VCDS shows it's got a stage 1 map on, seems to be nice and smooth. Very happy with it, lovely being in a fairly normal quiet standard car!

How mwny miles had the turbo done?
