Best mods and parts for stage 1
Arnoldc1990:
Hey guys,
I am just about to pick up my DSG edition 30, I want some advise about what are the best things to upgrade for as healthy stage 1 remap as possible. I am going up to rtech for the map.
What spark plugs are best?
Any valves (DV) that need replacing?
Air intake? (Think the revo one seems best?)
R8 coilpack?
Anything else would be great
Cheers
Chris

In answer to your question..
OEM or NGK Iridium spark plugs are ok.
Revision G Diverter Valve
Evoms intake if it's numbers and Noise your after.
Save your money , I would bother with different coil packs.
Decat the exhaust and an intake will get you cheaper gains, or budget for a full turbo exhaust either Milltek or BCS or Blueflame in noise is what your after.
If you can find an S3 intercooler , that will give you better midrange over the OEM cooler.
:happy2:
I'm up at RTech tomorrow as it happens
Arnoldc1990:
Are there a particular Set of plugs that NGK do? Are they ok to have without a map until It gets mapped?
You get the revision Valve from TPS or dealer don't you?
Evoms intake? Is it a better flowing intake than the Revo one?
So only change coilpacks if they go?
In time will get a full exhaust system but just want as good stage 1 as possible then do other bits like suspension, brakes etc...But just getting the CAT cut out will help will it?
Is the S3 cooler much better??
Haha oh really? new quite a few of mates mates have been back up there recently
What you having done?
Cheers for the advice mate!
Have fun up RTech

Avoid Nology plugs. They are zero resistance and can cause electrical problems and coil pack failure
Arnoldc1990:
Cheers guys
Yeh was going to change the oil at the same time, not looked into what oil to use yet though :happy2:
RTech mentioned using those plugs I was going to either use NGK or these.
