Remap problems!

Hi all had my golf for a few month now, was thinking of remapping it. My mates just had his S3 mapped and has a big problem with it, he has no power what so ever until about 3/4k revs is this a common fault with a remap and what could be causing this problem, he's had a new coil pack fitted and new spark plugs...

If the map is done by a reputable company then you shouldn't have this problem, especially if you get a live map (on a rolling road done) it's worth paying the money since poor quality maps can cause havoc. I've heard of blown turbos broken ECU's and all sorts because people tried to save £100 odd in a map.

Done by durham remaps, they have really good reviews, £350 for a rolling road before and after the map
