Fuel Filter - GT SPORT 170 TDI
« on: July 10, 2014, 06:16:37 pm »
Hi guys,

Is the process for changing the fuel filter on my car a simple as it appears?

I'm a little scared that I've read various sources that seem to imply I need to prime the system with VCDS, post swap.

Can anyone help?

Car is a 2008 GT Sport with the 2.0 170 PD engine.

Thanks.  :happy2:

I've done it on my tdi 140 without having to prime.
To help it along, you could top up the fuel filter before refitting the cover.
It may take a few tries of turning over but will start eventually.

The first time I saw mine done I suggested to Alex to turn the ignition on and off a few times without starting. This cycles the lift pump and will fill the filter housing. Never had any issues getting it started using this method  :happy2:
