Does it make the same noise if you rock the engine backwards and forwards?

To me it's more like some thing to do with the suction / 'vacuum' being released when coming off the throttle?

Does it do it with the standard airbox on?

Not that I can remember to be honest!

Any ideas anyone? And do you think that it's a bad thing or something to worry about?

There's nothing in the intake pipe I've already checked etc, it did it with the old revo kit on too, it also does it if I dip the clutch when driving but it's not as noticeable, due to all other noise etc! Checking the dv tonight and pcv! Haven't and can't check for error codes unless I pay a garage
Which I didn't really want to do!

Since fitting these intakes I've had the car cutting out which thankfully doesn't happen now. And now this! Puts me off modding the golf if I'm honest  :sad1:

You need to refit the OEM air box and try it again.

What shall I do if it doesn't do it with the standard kit fitted? Hmmm :/

Did you fit the intake yourself? Is the pipe that connects to the turbo on properly? It can be tricky to get it seated and get the fastener in the correct place.  Not properly fitted could be the reason behind your cutting out

Yeah it was cutting out at first then I fitted the turbo pipe properly and no cutting out! Iirc the car doesn't make this noise with the standard air box on!

Stupid question. What happens if you do it with the engine off but ignition on? Pressing and releasing the accelerator?

Yeah the battery has been disconnected for about 30 minutes approx during the install of the kit so maybe it's that but il try the various things and get back to you guys later this afternoon!

Thanks again!
