you can do what you want to a front wheel drive car, will never have the feel of a proper car, but if putting your foot down up a slip road floats ye boat then, yeah they are slow

What is the definition of a proper car?
In some series the dominant cars are the FWD ones.
for a given vehicle weight, power and tyre size, a front wheel drive car was always faster over a given section of road.
devils advocate off.

I Agree totally! I was watching some sort of touring car racing real early one morning and it had allsorts of cars on there. I def remember there being 3 BMW MK3's and 3 SEAT LEONS. The Beemers had quite a lead on all the cars with the Seat's mixed in here and there among the other cars. As soon as it started raining (about half way through the race) The Seat's started to creep forwards. It didn't take long before ALL 3 Seat's were at the front and thats where they stayed. As I remember the BMW's didn't make 4th, 5th or 6th either. The commentators mentioned that the leons were getting more power down as they were more balanced and had better traction with the weight over the front! (or something along those lines)
It was a really really great race to watch! I wish there were more of it on TV!

im not talking lap times!!!!!!! , silly argument this, front wheel drive is fantastic for what it is, cheap to build and predictable handling, rear in my opinion gives more feel and is a new challenge to me as i have always owned front wheel drive cars, as for the m3, i know a lad who has a csl with ap brakes and does a 7:20 bridge to gantry, that is fast.
