Porsche 6pot Upgrade > Mk5 GTI
a8rnx:
Evening guys,
Right, I am looking to do a BBK on my mk5 gti. I have been researching different brake upgrades, methods and kits for the past 2 weeks now and my head is banging! :signLOL:
At first I was looking to do the S3 8P 345mm upgrade which I actually went and purchased, I then done a few shows over in Belgium and have now decided I need bigger! Not quite a fan of the TT RS option so thats out the window. I am now thinking about a Porsche Cayenne 6 Pot front upgrade.
I think this is what I need, as I said I have done a lot of research but found a lot of mixed information....
- Porsche Cayenne 6 Pot front calipers
- Mercedes 350mm discs
- Porsche to Volkswagen brake lines
- Porsche Cayenne brake pads
- Mounting bolts
I have read that the 350mm oem disks are very heavy but priced at £150 for pagid drilled discs > Are there any options for lighter discs that don't cost the earth?
I know that these also need the bolt holes opening up slightly & will need centre rings because of the centre bore?
Mounting bolts I can get for £55 > Is this priced ok?
Now I have seen the famous DaveB's input on loadssssssssss of threads but he is a very very busy man and near impossible to get a hold of. I have read that he can supply oem 350mm discs with the bolt holes already drilled etc for £203 + vat. I have also read he can supply different discs which may be better suited for the setup?
Any real input would be great so I can finally get some solid facts down and get the ball rolling with my upgrade! :happy2: :happy2: :happy2:
Thanks in advance guys!

The Porsche cayenne calipers aren't very good on our cars.
Look at the Porsche 996turbo 4 pot calipers with the 350mm merc discs :happy2:
