Jay's Golf Coupe "racek0r" project

With the brakes, I now regularly give them a blast with high pressure air to force any build up of brake dust out, even a football pump should help dislodge and prolong the inevitable build up? Just my 10 pence...

Tbh the problem never really occurred until I stopped detailing and wasn't jet washing the wheels.
I have been using Iron X and a stiff brush to scrub out the grooves which SEEMS to improve things so that's good :-)
Gave the car a well deserved service @ 148850 miles (it's clocking up bloody fast).
Millers 5w40, new genuine oil filter, fuel filter, finally did the cabin filter too.
and fitted some lovely red footwell LED's :-)
my mate ben popped over to give us a hand (he did the pollen filter lol) and we swapped out his headlights to some xenon/projector retrofit ones which look ace!
Still need to fit the powerflex rear arm bushes and subframe deadset kit.
in two minds whether to get ARB's or save up another month and get a slippy diff.
Still waiting for Alex to not be busy to put my harnesses in..
and Darkside to make my intake pipe... (unfortunately I can't weld or I'd do it myself)
Shoduchi:
I think you should go for the slippy diff 1st.

I probably will. Will look at uprated internal linkages as well as the box will be split!
I also booked in with Alex for harnesses / strut brace in the first week of March.

Get a diff first and just keep an eye on eBay/forums for a second hand set of roll bars at a good price. I did that for my springs for the Golf R and bagged a set of H&R springs for £70 off RRP (brand new as well!). Someone's abandoned dreams of a project are your bargains. :happy2:
