Awesome Jay, I'm hoping I'm saying the same as you after Alex hopefully fits mine this weekend.
I'm really tired of the notchy and blippy' stock gearchange and travel on mine! Perhaps the Scirocco was smoother in the first place, but either way...
What sort of hp and torque figures do you expect to see with Stage 2 and Darkside kit? I must admit having looked at Revo stage 1 figures that I have now, I can't really justify stage 2 as the torque barely increases although the economy gains with a DPF delete are apparently noticeable :popcornsoda:
:happy2:

What about bushes for the transmission, do they need replacing at the same time (thinking of doing this mod to my GTI at some stage you see)?

It's some one I bought from Ebay for about £35. The forge one has side to side but is about 5 times the price and I can't really justify that..bushes are all stock, don't need to replace them at the same time, just the linkage under the air box.

The DPF does a great job of keeping the tail pipes clean doesn't it
Looking forward to the darkside tuning results. I follow them on facebook, but never seen them tune a CR170

Haha it does. No, I'm struggling to find much out there, seems a bit new, Darkside have done some but not on their website, gonna troll their Facebook and see what I can find lol.
Seen a few from Ptorque that are stage 1 around 215bhp and 340lb ft, then again Darksides dyno is very harsh and gives honest figures. My other car felt a lot quicker than 221bhp and when racing my friends 222bhp TDI it pulled out quite a gap until it hit the limiter (mine had 5 speed he had 6) so pulled back at the very top end.

--- End quote ---
They say between 200 and 220bhp and around 340lb ft of torque
My old TDI was 221bhp and 365lb ft and if it can make near enough that I will be very, very happy, as that was a quick car.

Paint is looking mint, really pops in that last pic. :happy2:

Lol yes. No urge to remove it, not annoying or anything haha. I probably will when I come to re-tax it :happy2:
Thank you :) The further away you are the better it looks lol, is quite swirled and we are so busy at the moment, no time to polish it. Perhaps over winter.

i'm sure you will
I've never driven a manual GTI but I'd imagine its the same as the linkage is the same.
I do a lot of short journeys but also plenty of longer ones. Cars getting on a bit and DPFs are a servicable component. Rather just remove it now, perhaps get it cleaned and keep it for re-sale or whatever in the future, and benefit from the extra bit of performance and breathing it gives. Also allow me to free up some noise with the full exhaust. After Darkside it's back to AKS to get the rear section made up as he needs the downpipe all finished off first.

An additional brucey bonus is that I'm getting a Polar FIS+ rather than a Newsouth Gauge, as you can't get the Newsouth Gauge vent holders in the right have drive market... while I may look at changing this in the future and customising one while Alex is doing the brakes and I'm getting on with the servicing, we will get one of those fitted too.. then a week to Darkside.

You have to drive past me to get to Darkside ;).

word of caution on short shifters as way back when in 08/09 we found out there were a load of us having issues running these due to VW most cutting, the VWR short shift kit comes with extra over em goodies
stock wheel clearance is shocking given the offset
