is 4wd the way forward after stage 2+
toosmiles:
i remember alex talking about it too me m8
its just that i dont do any launches or traffic jam races and like pikeys car once rolling it'll keep up no problems with 4wd
it does make me think everytime i put money into mine to make it better, would id be better off 4wd/new car for 'just' a little exta traction for eveyday use?
mk_boy85:
It solely depends on what your going to use it for. Mine is dedicated to racing so I need as much traction as possible.
I wish I'd have done an s3 would have been far easier but where's the fun in that. It's not that expensive to do the 4wd either I have £800-900 in mine in parts. Same price as a diff fitted with new bolts

agree m8,mines for an everyday car really but more track days to come
i cant get a diff for £800 with new bolts never mind labour to fit it lol
ill look into someone doing a 4wd conversion, what car did you get the parts from m8?
mk_boy85:
I used s3 and r32. Just make sure you get an s3 gearbox as an r32 doesn't have the right housing for our engine. There's always parts about if you bide your time.

Im 50/50 the in gear straight line speed loss puts me off, on track at speed through corners it handles the power well in the corners, but combe has fast corners, on a twisty track where 2nd gear is used alot it may struggle alot more.. once you learn the car with a well setup chassis its alot of fun, dont get me wrong its a handfull what hatchback wouldnt be with over 500hp, wotbox launches would be good fun but it doesnt really tempt me atm, i am more aining at fitting 255/265 r888 atm
