Nope not through the trade - previous owner only advertised it on my campervan forum very briefly before I sent him a deposit!
Even he commented that he was surprised it sold so fast - dont think he knew what it could have fetched!
But hey - I am a VW enthusiast so it will get some love and mods rather than being stripped for parts!

StuF:
A mate of mine popped over today and he gave me a Forge Short shift kit and some fresh bushes!  :happy2:
Just fitted it on the car and it has transformed the gear change! Very happy!
All for the price of a beer!

Some billet aluminum rings for the climate panel arrived from Awesome GTI too - so they have also been slipped on to lift the interior slightly!

GrayMK5GTI:
Pics of the cam follower when they pop it out mate!

Still can't get over what a bargain your car was. Not many of us on here buy a car knowing you could sell it the next day for a profit (or at least break it for a profit)

Will be keeping an eye on this BT to see what you do with it  :happy2:

Dave J:
Awesome car - looks like it has been well cared for as I'd never guess it had done those miles!
Great price you paid for the spec - would love to find one like it for that money!

Look forward to how your build progresses!

StuF:
Got the car back from the garage today after all the work!
Cambelt, Water-pump, Replacement Engine Mount, Major Service, New Cam follower, Eibach Sportline Springs inc fitment and 4xwheel alignment
Well what can I say - the handling is transformed with the new springs and the engine is purring!

Big thanks to Lincoln VW Specialists - very happy with their service!  :happy2:
And they are a REVO dealer so I will be back at some point when the coffers aren't so dry :signLOL:

Little bit lower, less roll, still supple and compliant over the poor surfaces found on Lincolnshire's roads!
The garage commented on the fantastic condition of the vehicle considering the mileage - a testament to the PO

Some pics for you peeps
New springs with the original ones retained in case I want to return to standard in the future

Lower meaner stance! Wheels getting a refurb in the new year!

Had the Cam Follower replaced on everyones advice - it didnt look too bad to my untrained eyes considering it has covered 167700 miles

Overall - an expensive day all things considered but I need to get the ground work completed before I begin increasing the output of the motor.
Nice that no nasties were uncovered and confident now to look ahead to 2+ power, R32 Brakes and so on!  :happy2:
