When the guy fitted CC on my old Golf he didn't disconnect the battery, BUT I would highly recommend it.  The final decision is yours, do you want to lose your map or have a blasted airbag?

Dub-Jon:
yer i think to loose the map and have it put it back on will be the best option.

Thanks

Guys
