How are you accessing the menu mij? By holding the wiper rocker button or menu button on sw?

I think if it was factory fitted with a 973, then it can work off rocker switch (like mine) but then i switched to a mfsw and it now works off sw menu button

Hey bud. I understand I wouldn't be able to go through the menus (until I got a MFSW and module installed), but would the clocks actually work okay, and let me go through the normal trip options? (MPG, fuel range etc). Then I could at least get these clocks while they are cheap, get them in and then in a few months time when I can afford a wheel, get it put in and then use the menus?

Thing is I need to get new clocks soon as my current ones are playing up (random lights come on that shouldn't when I indicate, have the handbrake on or use cruise control, so would be an MOT fail. Hence the need for new ones.

Hi,

I am looking at a 972 hi line cluster on ebay.
My car is mid line 2008 GTI, with MFSW, retrofitted cruise stalk. The car is not in the UK, but I myself will be there for another few weeks.

Am I able to fit it in, as according to the first post I need to refer to VW specialist to get the SKC Code ?

2008 will have to be done by a specialist. Its not just about getting the skc, it's also about getting the keys matched up as well.

Best to contact Alex (Olsen-72), Usual suspect or Eddie-NL if you're lucky.

Highline - This cluster is the expert level. As well as the above, it will show you an image of your car to show which doors are open, setup menu, Audio, navigation, phone.(Additional parts may be needed for eg RNS 510)
These will come in part numbers ending 970,971,972,973,974
I recently acquired a MK6 Golf cluter that I am about to retroft in my 2008 MK5 GTI that already has a highline cluster, MFSW, and DSG.

The MK6 cluster has the part number 5K6-920-972-E.  I just wanted to verify that the 972 numbering convention still means that I have a highline cluster, before I do the immobilizer work seen in other forums.

Hi all.

So, eventually bought a set of 973 clusters for my late 2007 Jetta. Also bought an RCD330, and a newer style MFSW.
Was told I needed a control module, part number 1K0 953 549 CH, so bought that.

Left it all to get fitted at a local specialist, MFSW and paddles work, buttons working with the Head unit etc, but now my cruise control won’t work? Will I need a new stalk or control module? Or is there something missed?

Ta! Would you be able to advise what part number stalk I’d need? Or would you need the current stalk’s part number to know?

By modify the wiring, is there a guide or is this trial and error? Lol
