Aux-in for rcd510

<< < (7/11) > >>

usmangti:
Just been looking at the ebay item, on there it states rcd510 and rcd300, I don't understand why it would therefore work with the 310. When I receive mine, I'll try it with the 310 first if not, hopefully it will work with my rcd510. I'll post back if it woks or not!

usmangti:
So received the aux in today. Nice quality looks very OEM.
This is where it gets weird. I have a rcd310 and rcd510. I have being using the 310 as the 510s cd changer is knackered. Ideally I wanted to fit the aux to the 510 just cause it looks better, and then won't need CDs anyway. The aux works on the 310 but not the 510. Both stereos have aux activated. Apart from some distortion on the 510 when adjusting volume there is no sound being sent through. The head unit allows me to select AUX so it's defo picking up the connection.
I'm stumped as it's advertised for the rcd510 and the old version rcd300. As @Cossie Killer  was having problems with his 310 I thought it might be a different lead for each.
@vw55raz any ideas?

Cossie Killer:
Bloody weird, the noise distortion is exactly what i was getting.

Guy on eBay was very good actually, told him i was having issues and he's given a full refund. Could it be a coding issue? Something to do with the mdi combo loom?

usmangti:
Tell me about it.

This cable is utilising the cd changer slot and I believe the old style 30 pin iPod Dock uses the same slot. The mdi loom seems to uses what looks another quad lock connector. It did show MDI initialising for a few seconds when I first connected it to the 310 but not the 510.

Have you sent urs back? My pal wants one if ur flogging it. He's got an rns510. It goes tight in the dash so don't fancy chancing getting mine out now.

K9:
my is just working fine. no problems here  :smiley:
