Running rough - found oil in bores 2 & 3

My car was running rough/stalling & was due a service so took it to a local garage this afternoon, they have found a lot of oil in bores 2 & 3 and some wetness in 1 & 4, they are saying replacement engine  :scared:, ive got all the K04 parts already on my current engine so was thinking of an S3 engine transplant, i've been quoted about £2k just for fitting is this reasonable?
