Hi, hoping someone can help me with an issue of the dsg?.
I've noticed a slight jolt before taking off at normal speed and in reverse and hoping it's not the dsg can anyone advise please.

Many thanks

OSB:
If you take your foot off the brake or release the handbrake - and put your foot immediately on the accelerator, there is a bit of a jerk.
The gearbox internals take a few tenths to take up.
I find that if I come off the brake and pause slightly allowing the drive to take up there is no jerk.
Having said that ... When was your DSG oil changed? Should be every 40K. That can cause problems if its really old.
A DSG reset with VCDS can help as well. Do a search on that.

Hello OSB, thank you for your reply
I have tried to ease off the brake whilst moving off but it still feels the same like a clonk into gear.
The oil and filter were replaced by vw last year as I phoned them prior to buying the car and it was fine at the time which was only two weeks ago but it's only just started happening.
could it be the bottom gearbox mounting (dog bone).
I'll try and search the dsg reset, is it easy to do?.

Mine jerks in reverse if you're not that gentle and occasionally first gear when hot. It had the DSG oil changed at 38k when I bought it. It's never got any worse and it's now on 52k so I wouldn't worry. My friend's MK6 is exactly the same.

I do the reset where you hold the accelerator down with the key on and that resets the clutch timings or something, I do that every few months which helps iron out any bad habits. I find that it gets quite vicious if I've driven like an arse for a few days

With reverse it particularly it seems to be important that you let it engage for a moment before letting off the brake.

This forum can make you worry your DSG is knackered when it's perfectly fine when you see other people having problems. Stop worrying lol, I have - just enjoy it. You'll know about it if it's going really wrong

Yeah mine is the same, Nothing wrong about  :happy2: But may be worth a reset with VCDS thats what I did when it was serviced. Find I notice it more when the box is cold first thing in the morning.
