Yes just unplug it and the engine will run rough and or stall if it's working as it should. Not sure if it would tbh but worth a check with the error codes you mentioned above.

Ah I did unplug it yesterday and the car ran no different pulled the same  when I initially  took the plug out the car had a lil grumble then ran and sounded normal drive the same plugged in or unplugged

jaye2992:
Hmm I'd say it's dead then....have you scanned for faults again lately? Mine runs rough and stalls without the MAF. Somebody with more knowledge should be able to confirm lol

Dan_FR:
Simply unpliugging the MAF at idle will make no difference - it will still idle fine. Removing the MAF with it still plugged in (providing a false reading) will cause the car to stall.

I love how the answer to a car that's not 100% is "whack a map on it and clear the fault codes"!

You need VCDS logging done to see/understand what is going on. You can not rely on fault codes alone to tell you what is wrong with the car

I no my mate who had the car before had 80k inheritance  so thought it would be easier to chuck another 600 quid at it plus fit a new exhaust lol and when that didn't sort it sold it to me for a fraction of what he paid ... but I'm now on a Misson to sort it out
