Can confirm that part number 8K0 253 825 D just slips over the original tips.

Got an eBay bargain for 25 quid and fitted today. Result.

Would it not have been easier to just get some scotchbrite pads and some good metal polish and clean up the standard ones? when I bought my car the exhaust tips were black asthough they had never been cleaned since new but with a bit of elbow grease they have scrubbed up and look brand new now, nice and shiny.

I had done that. Autosol metal polish and wire wool, elbow grease etc etc. Trouble is the tips had corroded and had marks that I was unable to shift. The originals are welded on so replacing is not a simple swap job.
