Cheers, Ash

It's a really simple, but effective mod IMO

Was it easy enough to line up the lettering on the switch over? Good thorough job on the tow eye too mate!

Thanks Ash,

Yeah, it was pretty simple, as there was a "shadow" left by the previous letters.

GTI-Rog:
Update time!

Package arrived from Poland, via eBay. Another bargain find I couldn't resist!

Unwrapped.....genuine Edition 30 front spoiler, already in Diamond Black Magic finish.

Took it outside to clean it up and assess the condition.

As to be expected, there is a bit of damage on the bottom of the lip. These will be touched in, as you won't see them once on the car.

P1050301 by Roger Freeman, on Flickr

Bit more damage.

P1050302 by Roger Freeman, on Flickr

The existing standard spoiler, it's ok but lacking a little in style..

P1050304 by Roger Freeman, on Flickr

Replacement, touched in as best as I could. Looks ok from here!! A bit more touching in required later.

P1050308 by Roger Freeman, on Flickr

To fit the lip properly, the bumper has to come off.

P1050309 by Roger Freeman, on Flickr

To gain access to the retaining screws, I turned the wheels.

P1050310 by Roger Freeman, on Flickr

There are 5 screws on each side to remove.

P1050311 by Roger Freeman, on Flickr

Two screws on the top, to remove the grill.

P1050312 by Roger Freeman, on Flickr

Two screws under the numberplate to come out.

P1050316 by Roger Freeman, on Flickr

Grill removed.
All the screws under the spoiler along the bottom were all removed at this point too.
P1050317 by Roger Freeman, on Flickr

These screws need to come out..
P1050318 by Roger Freeman, on Flickr

Then voila it slips off the side gliders nicely.
P1050319 by Roger Freeman, on Flickr

Then I disconnected the fog lights and it was detached from the car.
This all took about 20 mins.
P1050320 by Roger Freeman, on Flickr

Then to remove the old lip, I pulled the from the edges, then all along the bumper to the middle.
P1050321 by Roger Freeman, on Flickr

The old lip off!

Sitting on the towel to protect the paint.

Next clip on the Ed30 lip. This is a little tricky, after 2 attemps clipping from on side to the other, which didn't work, I started in the middle and worked my way out.
P1050326 by Roger Freeman, on Flickr

This worked a treat and was fitted in no time!
P1050327 by Roger Freeman, on Flickr

Then I re-fitted the bumper, as they say fitting is the reversal of removal

Looks great, just go steady as I have caught mine on a few high kerbs when parking! Did you tint your windows or are they factory?
