GTI-Rog's Mk5 GTI "Rejuvenation" Thread (Pic Heavy)
GTI-Rog:
Chemical Guys stuff is good
If you have already detailed your car using all 3 polishing stages, I personally would only do the refining stages to refinish. Remember, unless you are measuring the paint depth with a PDG you maybe removing too much clearcoat, and you don't want that!
It sounds like you have a good regime anyway, so is unlikely you will need to fully correct the paint again :happy2:
J400uk:
Nice progress thread, keep up the good work! You'd never know its 10 years old.

Thanks J400uk, that's the aim :happy2:
*update*
I managed complete a few more jobs on the GTI
First up, I gave the interior a good going over. This is the first interior clean since buying the car, so it had all previous owners dirt and crap in it
The process: Thorough vacuum, APC'd the plastics, shampoo'd all seats, carpets and headlining with Chemical Guys Fabric Clean. Then plastics were dressed with Gtechniq Matt Dash.

Next up, replace the damaged RCD500...
GTI-Rog:
The RCD head unit in my car has a damaged LCD screen, so I have bought an updated version to replace it with. It was great value from a fellow forum member, so thankyou :happy2:
I will be adding a centre armrest and Ipod dock soon, this is perfect for my needs and looks nicer with the silver buttons.

Next install Carbonio air intake. Another bargain find on the forum :happy2:
I know it's not that effective, but every little helps and I like the look of them.

Didnt realise you can just pop the fascia off. Thought you had to start from the top of the dash working your way down.
