The car was good enough on the straights. Pity the tyres not being better in the corners but I hope I'll have better ones for the next time. I suffered from too much understeer and I've set the RARB to the stiffer position to improve that now.

I hope you have a great time too! :drinking:

Don't forget to share pictures and videos if possible.

I'm going to order the parts needed to relocate the DV. It's something that all the LHD Ed. 30 would benefit, I think. I don't think the noise pipe is really needed and it's much harder to replace or check the DV where it currently sits.

With the help of @RBS who already did this mod the parts needed are:
-Turbo intake hose: 06F129627H
-Air circulation hose: 1K0145693B
-Pressure hose: 1K0145845A
-DV bracket: 06F145383L
-Hose clamp: N90687101 (x1, since I already have another in my engine)
-Firewall cover: 1K0971866A
-Firewall cover: 1K0971865A

Still not sure how many bolts I'll need for the DV bracket. From the pictures I think I'll need these:
-DV bracket bolt: N91084801 (x3)
-DV bracket nut: N01508213 (x3)

I'd appreciate if someone could tell me if that's the correct number of bolts and nuts for the DV bracket. I've seen DIY referring 4 and another referring 5, but the bracket itself only has 3 holes.

I'm also going to try the GFB+ DV. From what I've seen I'll have to make sure that the piston moves freely on the factory solenoid coil or I'll have to return it.

Sounds like you were driving in S mode, rather than manual. Youd have much better control in M mode

Yeah, I ran mostly in S mode. I didn't feel confident enough with the car to drive it in manual. I tried it for a bit with the paddles but I just messed up the gear changes due to turning the wheel. I still drive the GT Sport most of the days, so I'm not that used to using the paddles. It's easy while driving on the road, the track is much more demanding. :ashamed:

I was more worried about braking in the right spots and doing the best trajectories. Even that I still needed more practice.  :signLOL:

Hey mate

You are absolutely correct about the parts you need!
I forgot about the 2 pieces you need for the firewall!  :ashamed: :happy2:
The partnrs are correct :  1K0 971 866 A  &  1K0 971 865 A
Now for the DV bracket I am not sure because I haven't mounted it yet! But I have orderd the 3 bolts
N 910 848 01.  I don't know if you need the nuts?  I am going to do this when I'm changing the Intercooler and the tubes. I hope I can get it done in about  a week or 4? For now I May not move to much but I'll get you the pic's hopefully this weekend.

Keep up the good work!

I can see the at least 2 nuts in ETKA. I should only need 2 of them.

Just ordered the GFB+ DV and I have the price for the parts from VW. Just waiting to know if a friend can get them a bit cheaper.

Thanks RBS! Get well fast! :happy2:

Hey there
I've mounted the bracket for the DV relocation yesterday.
You are right there's only 1 bolt and 2 nuts! Now the nuts you don't need to buy them because they are already mounted for the other bracket wich holds nothing  :surprised:
Anyway  this is what you asked me
I also took some pic's from the parts I removed wich are no more needed.

Share the pictures of what you have done so far when you can, please. I haven't found much info on this relocation for LHD Ed. 30.

I'm still waiting for the parts to arrive.

Here you go

Thanks for the pictures buddy! You can use the tag (img)(/img) (with straight parentheses) and copy/paste the direct link for the pictures for them to show in your post (the image shortcut icon is the Mona Lisa icon in the icons of the message posting tabs).
