Bignod00:
Sorry for digging up an old thread but I have a question.

I recently upgraded from a mk5 wheel to a mk6 and changed the steering control module to a CH version. Once coded this ensured all the buttons worked perfectly.

The problem I had was that I kept getting a fault with the steering angle sensor (G85) that I couldn't get to go away.

After doing some more digging on the above link to Ross-Tech it looks as tho my original control module (BS version) doesn't have the g85 built into the the slip ring but instead is part of "the electro mechanical steering assist."

Looking at the list it seems that it might be worth me trying the CD version as that is the same regarding the G85 and should also enable all the controls on the wheel to work again!

Does anyone on here know if I'm barking up the wrong tree or not?

Nasir:
I think you can code the angle sensor from the steering module to the rack. It's in the Steering Assist module I think.

What exactly is the code?

The code of the Steering Wheel Controller originally fitted to the car is 1K0953549BS, the one I purchased to make the mk6 wheel work is 1K0953549CH.

According to the Ross-Tech Wiki page the 1K0953549CD is the updated version of the 1K0953549BS that also has the steering angle sensor not in the slip ring.
