How much would you expect to pay someone for a machine polish and sealant ?
I'm based in Surrey. Have two cars that'll benefit, too lazy to do it myself and too scared of burning through the paint!

If you have a DA, it'll be near impossible to burn through and even with a rotary, it'll take a fair bit of effort.
Cost depends on how much work needs doing and what they do. Could easily be £200-300 per car.

'Machine polishing' is a very general statement. If you just want a basic machining (what I call and enhancement detail) and a wax it would normally cost between £200 - £400 depending on condition and size of the car, an intense polishing (what I call correction detail) and a wax would be between £450 - £700 again depending on condition and size of the car.
What cars are they? What age? What general condition? I've been doing this every day at work for about a year now but haven't really done much private work. I am looking to branch out and start doing it though. It would be a fair bit cheaper than what I posted above and i'm not too far away from you. I've got plenty of pictures of my work of you're intrested?

Right - looks like quite an outlay. My Mk5 Golf needs the most attention, 110k miles on the road hasn't done the front end any favours and I reckon the previous owners have been using the supermarket and Albanian car washes.
Need to decide if I have a go at learning it myself or employ the services of Dan. The most I've done in the past is use a clay bar and clay mitt, then Autoglym SRP to fill in the swirls and a little Collinite to make it last longer, but I haven't had the time to do that these days.

For reference my mate does it on the side...
Wash, Clay, prep, machine polish (not full correction but gets rid of swirls and light marks etc...) for about £120. Take's him about 6/7hrs ish for an average sized car.
So not always the big prices if you can find someone who does it part time.
