Good to hear, now make sure you enjoy it :)

Gmaster:
I've just recently brought a 07 gti and mine is the same quiet when cold apart from the ticking, then when warm diesel like sound!!
Like yourself can hear it in the cabin when car is up to temp.

It's going into a Vw independent on Monday I reckon like you it's the chain as the cam follower and shaft where done about 20k ago.

Yeah it's a bit of a bummer really, hopefully won't be too much money! - Usually the chain and tensioner do it and are cheap enough, if the adjuster needs changing then that's the big money part.  Thankfully all mine was done under warranty.  :happy2:

MrACD:
Had the compressor changed today (AC) - and it's nice and ice cold now :) - so apart from creaking steering its all good :)

Any idea what the costs might be on something like this? I'll be changing my follower soon but I'm just thinking if the chain and tensioner need doing might aswell do it in one go
