Haha. Thankfully I have access to lots of tools on a daily basis. Laser, CNC etc so I made lots of custom bits for my Mk2 golf. I also have a scanner that scans parts in and I can replicate them. When I remove the door cards I will be scanning the profile of them so I can make lightweight new ones  :happy2:

Sorry for bumping, but are the bearings in the Ground Control mounts spherical or OEM balls?  It's hard to tell in the pics?  If the former, how long to the bearings last?

I would presume its a thrust type ball bearing setup..... just a guess tho. Speak to @vRSAlex  he will know.

@Pudding they use two sets of bearings.  The spherical in the centre holds the damper rod, the outer bearing holds the spring.  The outer is an oem BMW bearing.

I'm 5 years into mine and no issues at all.

Aha, gotcha.   Do the ones you stock fit the standard / VWR springs?  I notice on their website they do different options for spring diameter.
