Not a tech wiz so be gentle but my hard drive with 200gb+ of music decided not to spring into life Its a western digital book version. Neon light flashes which its never done before Not recognised by laptop little help please :drinking:
Paradox1:
What operating system are you using?
May be worth re-installing the hard drive driver
lukemk5gti:
Plug it into another computer that has never been connected to it.
Might be a chance of salvage.
Back all of it up then on two drives going forward.
I learned the hard way and now I have 2 1TB drives which I duplicate every few months.

If all else fails - get a usb HDD dock for about £20ish. Open the WD casing and take out the HDD. Use the USB dock to read the data off it. Most of the time its the interface of the external drive thats gone and the drive could be salvageable.
