Video of my mates old gti with pipewerx downpipe and standard cat back, couldn't hear it in the car, no drone at all, could really feel the power gains, really nice sound under load with your foot down

Depends on if your just after sound, maximum performance, quality and look.

You can get decat down pipes for as little as £120 all the way to £300 on eBay if not more and then cat back systems can start around £250 again on eBay.

Most performance will be gained from a good downpipe/decat. On the golf in the video with the decat it didn't make a huge performance difference as it was standard at the time but the car did pull better.

If your on a budget and want a nicer sound then I'd get a downpipe for now and keep looking on eBay and in for sale section on here for a cat back exhaust.

Hey Dan
We can offer you the Sports Cat Back at £490.00 with the forum member discount.
For this you are getting around 30% more system than our competetors, with our system mating right up behind the cat on the stock DP.
With the step down reducer, being removable, the system is easy to upgrade to the full Turbo Back when funds allow.
Cheers
Nige

Twisting my arm a bit there Nige!

Just to check, If i wanted to go for a turbo back Powervalve system at a later date, would that work fine with the cat back sports system you're offering?

Fuming!!!!! :sad1:

Just rang my insurance company (Hastings direct) and they said I can't be covered by them if want this mod???!!

Apparently I need to be 25 if I want to change the exhaust!?!?!

Half tempted to cancel the policy and go elsewhere, but I'm 5 months into the policy and would have to start a new year for my NCD

I had the Miltek none resonated cat back system.

Bought it on here for £450 I think.

Sold it one month after fitting.  In my opinion I would keep stock until it rusted through rather than remove the OEM item for one of these.

I then bought a full TBE BCS unit.  not the power valve one, but 3" all the way through.

I love it.  I like simplicity so kept away from the power valve concept as in my eyes there is something that could go wrong here.  (It may not but I like longevity!)

Get another insurance policy and a decent unit.  Am in York if you want to here it for real!' :drinking:

No don't cancel it.

You can try the old trick of "this company offered me cheaper insurance with the exhaust. Can you match it otherwise i'll go with them. see what they say"

IF not what is half a year anyway? its nearly xmas as it is lol

Why did you sell the milltek mate? As this is what I was going to be purchasing next month / November. Lack of power? Lack of noise?
