Sold this on eBay - buyer responded with "not as described".

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Volkswagen-MFD2-Sat-Nav-Golf-Transporter-T5-etc-/281725808398?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item41982aaf0e

When I asked what, he said the following:

"The item I Received was not how I wanted it. I wanted it It to be touch screen , dvd, cd , navigation, gps, and the one you sent me was not right for my car. Please I would like to return it because the one you sent me is old."

Normally, I'd tell him to run and jump - but I did a search on the page and found "touch screen" in the ever-helpful auto description (that I couldn't remove when making the advert) that eBay provided. Brilliant.

I see he also expected DVD - I guess I was right in saying it's the DVD version for Sat Nav discs and I was in no way trying to mislead.

Any ideas here? Should I refund the money and take the £15 hit on postage? I phoned eBay but they cannot intervene until 8 days later - leaving my PayPal -£200 and no way to use eBay without first paying that negative balance off.

Sadly.. you have accidentally mislead the buyer to thinking its touch screen.

eBay pretty much always side with the buyer now. I've had a couple people open a dispute and I've accepted a return and they have to add a tracking number and eBay will refund them automatically when the tracking States it's arrived.

When the item has arrived it's been an empty box! And there's nothing that I could do about it

Rossimac:
...Exactly!

That's my point - the buyer thought he'd be getting a touch screen thanks to eBay's auto description of an MFD2. Apparently you can connect a reverse camera and a telephone to the ole MFD2 as well - who knew?

Anyway, the question I'm asking is: is eBay at fault here or am I? All I would be asking from eBay is to cover my postage costs.

I don't think eBay will do anything never had much luck with Ebay always side with buyer just give him refund and suck it up unfortunate but not much you can do
